Hey guys i just bought gears of war pc and am having a problem getting it to work... My problem is that when i click the icon to play the game, it says "software update" at the bottom of my computer screen in the task bar. What does this mean? is there any way i can skip the update?
thanks!

Here, download this patch and run it.

http://www.fileshack.com/file.x/11503/Gears+of+War+Patch+(Revised)

Also, run the game and it might Update as well, I dunno. But if it does, let it finish

and then close the game and reopen it, that should do the trick.

Press Ctrl + alt + delete once to open up task manager, click on the application tab and right click on "software update", select maximize.

It will show you what software/driver/patch update you need to install before you can play the game.

It could be anything, Nvidia driver, ATI driver, CPU driver, audio driver, etc. The game will automatically detects them and show you, but its bugged hence its minimized and cant be maximized with the left click, you need to use the task manager to maximize it.

oh, the auto update feature cant updates everything, you may need to manually download some driver/patch from the internet, but at least it'll tell you what you need to download.
