im deciding to buy a video card for this computer im probably getting. the only problem is that i dont know which videocard to get and my price budget is 200 dollars. i saw that these two had the same price so im asking which one is better the 8800GT or the HD4850?

The 4850 blows the 8800GT out of the water.

From the Anandtech review, I took the benches at 1680x1050 and this is how much the HD4850 is faster than the 8800GT in % :

Crysis: 15%
Call of Duty 4: 34%
ET Quake Wars: 53%
Assasin's Creed: 31%
Witcher: 27%
Bioshock: 68% (no joke)
Oblivion: 16.5%

The 2 cards aren't as close as some people think.

9800GTX is the closest card nVidia has in the radeon HD 4850 price range, and it's only really comparable if you overclock.

The 4850 is a good bit better than my 8800GTS 640mb in all but one game, Mass Effect. So far that's the only game where the 8800GTS outperformed it significantly... even tho the game is on the cover of the 4850 box :(

It depends on the price. If you can find an 8800 gt for less than 130 bucks. If not, go 4850!
