Ok I made a thread yesterday talking about slower paced RTS games. But I have one more request from you guys. Are their any RTS games where you give general orders to units and they do the rest? Example would be telling a squad to attack a city from the left flank, then they do the rest. You don't have to micro-manage their movements, they carry out the orders like in real-life. The only time you would interfere would be to tell another squad to reinforce another quad, assault a general area, ect. But no micro-manageing? I have never seen this type of game yet it is the most realistic way of protraying real-life warfare. The squad leaders make the smaller decisions like movements.

Note this game does not need to be modern combat, this was just an example. Also please do not suggest Combat Mission Shock Force. A very good game and the closest thing I played to what I'm looking for, but you still micro-manage somewhat. Thanks for your time.

Only ones I can think of are the Majesty games where you issue bounties to lure your heroes into adventures; Hearts of Iron 3 where you can automate the entire game; and an old game called Pizza Syndicate that had the same feature.

R.U.S.E.

That's an old video. They already had two betas, and polished the game according to the community's requests.

I think they're hyping a new beta on Steam, coming soon.

The original Majesty is right up this alley. Majesty 2 maybe, but I've heard people say it's inferior to the first. I wouldn't know, haven't played the second one yet.

The AI for your own ships in Sins of a Solar Empire is incredibly smart. You can tell them to attack a planet and they'll do the rest. There are certain mechanics where the shields on ships protect more against large amounts of fire so the AI will know not to make everyone attack one ship. Planetary bombardment ships will auto attack the planet and fighters do their jobs on their own.
