Getting a Hd tv in soon have a 360 question

Ok so what i wanted to know is there is the cables that come with the 360 that are colored red, green, blue, red and white. So i know i have to plug those to the tv but what do i plug into the HDMI plug on the tv and i saw on xbox.com theres this 40 dollar VGA cable do i need to buy that two or is that the same thing the 360 came with. Im sorry for the really stupid questions its just im new to hd and not used to this stuff so any help is greatly appreciated.

The cables come with the 360. The normal 360s do not have HDMI, the new Elites do however. The VGA cable is only usedif you want to hook the 360 up to a computer monitor. Roland1987

Yo thanks alot that cleared it up and i dont have a elite so ill be pritty much set for when i buy the tv you would nt happen to know if the ps3 needs a hdmi cable do u
