Getting a new laptop for Xmas.... questions...

I have a Duo Core 2.4 Ghz Dell with a 8800GTX 768mb GPU and 2 GB 800Mhz Ram desktop, but i'm in college andI realized I would really rather have a laptop (I'm giving my desktop to my lil bro)...

I'd still like to play some games eventhough I trying to ween myself off gaming, and recently my parents ordered me a laptop... but were generous enough to give me the spec sheet in case I wanted them to cancel the order...

2.0 Ghz Duo Core

8600M GT 256mb

2 GB 667mhz ram

and It looks like a white Mac book which i kinda like, I know it'll play games, but how much of a reduction will I see in terms of graphical power.... Like I can max pretty much any game out with my Desktop, will I still be able to play most newer games on high with my laptop and still get about 60 FPS? (lets not include Crysis in this discussion)...

pretty good then, I mainly play COD4, Civ4, CSS, and MTW2.... this laptop is also $900 less than my desktop lol...

yeah, but I really don't play games that much on it... when I play video games its usally like 15 minutes of CSS or Civ4... My lil brother has a pentium 4 with a 4400mx still lol and my parents wouldn't get him a new PC until he went to college in 3 years so this is my $2000 christmas present to him :P
