Getting a new pc....looking for a solid multiplayer addiction.

It can be of any category or genre , asides from racing..... u hate racing games.

Its gotta be fun, fast, and focused around killing other people(not story or monsters)

*As for MMO's ive enjoyed Ultima Online, Everquest and Age of Conan the most, wow is decent, just not my thing. Also Warhammer is good, from what little ive plaeyd of it.

 As with any multiplayer game like CS:S, beware of annoying kids. Lately I have voice chat disabled just on principle.

Just got a new pc last week myself and been out of the loop as far as pc fps games go for a while. So what are the most popular multiplayer fps games atm besides the obvious like left 4 dead and cs, is crysis warhead good or ut3?anomalous_egad

I loved Crysis and Crysis Warhead. Im not a big fan of Unreal 3 though, i still enjoy Unreal 2k4 more even though i own both. (Unreal 3 does have some cool mods though). Also Battlefield, Counterstrike Source and cod4 (although im not a fan of it) are popular aswell.

The problem is that nothing new and good has really come out. PC gamers are getting killed by consoles and our games are taking a backseat to other crap that makes more money. I personally would get Call of Duty: World at War just to get away from CS:S and TF2 and their grinding repetitiveness. CoD5 has the zombie thing in it too so thats a little more variety along with it single player campaign. I played, beat, and ran CoD4 to death and dont care for it anymore(And yes I did love it). BF2 is retarded because of its loading times and BF2142 is dying. Id play Left4Dead but I dont care for a 4 senario money scam. Ill buy it when its $10. If you're gonna give us only that much content I dont care for you. Im also looking for a good addiction. I just quit WoW and am happy for that. Now its all just waiting for something good...or for my mood to swing from FPS to RTS to RPG...who knows. I wish Gears of War was still healthy. It sucks that its dead.

I dont understand how you can say TF2 is so repetative and yet you are hyping COD:WAW. I personally find COD:WAW much more repetative and much less tactical/team oriented then Tf2 and counterstrike source.

lol I never said I was hyped to get WaW. I just said Id get that at the moment just to get away from the mainstream I guess. I dont know. What is better tho, TF2 or CSS? Then get CSS. TF2 is never realistic, no matter what. If you ever get bored of the realism in CSS you can just hop into a surf/zm/aim map server. CSS community is larger, and has more custom maps- though probably just because it's been around a helluva lot longer.
