Are you planning on sitting really close to this TV? If not you might aswell go with a 32'' 720p flat panel and save yourself some money.

I want 1080p so I can enjoy HD games and BlueRay at its best. I just want to know which one is better for gaming.

Is there any reason why your sticking to a 32" screen? There are 40" 1080p lcds from 899.99 to 1099.99 also. Otherwise can't go wrong with either one, just have to see which one you like better in the store and read some reviews. In regards to the comment from ZimpanX, I agree to just get a 720p panel and save money because at 32" you would be hard pressed to tell a difference.

Just went to Circuit City(going out of business) and found a Samsung LN40A530P1F. I paid $799 for it. You can the same set at Best Buy at the same price. Although BB was sold out at the time. I played meet the robinsons using the PS3. 1080P is just beyond description. Also, I have my computer tied into this set. I am typing this on a 40 inch monitor. :)

I just bought the Samsung LN32A450 32-Inch 720p LCD for my Xbox 360. From my reading of the reviews, it seemed a no brainer at the 32" size. Amazon has it for $548.70. I can attest to its awesomeness. If you're the kind of person who's more interested in specs on paper than real world performance then it probably isn't for you. If you want the best bang for the buck then it seems obvious you should go 720p. Games are all 720p, and Blueray will look fantastic. Just my 2 cents of course. Also the opinion of CNET, FWIW.

The size of the screen and teh distance you are away from it matter. Here is a chart that shows if its worth picking up a 1080p r saving some cash and going with the 720p.

720P vs 1080P is almost not noticable at 32". in fact, most ppl cant tell the difference in a 50" plasma either.

diatribe on reolution aside, I would go with the samsung over sony every time!

Oh I just love graphs and charts they can be useful to prove many things to people who otherwise steadfastly refuse to believe a word I'm saying. Will you be sitting less than 6 feet from your TV? If so then go for it. Samsung.
