Right now, I'm trying to decide whether or not I should buy component cables or HDMI cables for my ps3 to use for my new 720p HDTV. The only reason I am alittle confused because I hear that if you have a 1080p hdtv you should definitely go with HDMI cables, however, I figure since mine will only be 720p, maybe the component cables would be a better buy. Would there still be a difference between a HDMI cable and acomponent cable for a 720p hdtv? Which cable should I go with?

I really appreciate you guys reading and helping me out :) Thanks so much.

always use the best possible connection available. get an hdmi cable. dont buy Monster cables or Rocketfish cables, actually just stay away from any store hdmi cables and order a nice cheap hdmi cable from monoprice.com

^^This for sure, the prices of HDMI cables in stores are abysmal. There may be a difference in quality between expensive and cheap cables, but from what I hear, the difference would only be noticed maybe on test equipement. I wouldn't blow the extra moolah for such a minimal difference. You can get a cheap HDMI cable online for a fraction of the cost.

I have both monster HDMI cables and a regular 15$ one from best buy and honestly I see absolutely no difference between the two when playing my ps3 games.

as long as your tv has a hdmi port then you should use anything you can in hd with hdmi. also hdmi cables are cheaper and easyer to find.
