I am getting a weird "resource monitor" low/error message here recently.

also I am looking for a tweak guide for WinXP on what startup programs I can disable, how, etc.... if anyone can help point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

You might have some malware on your hard drive. Do you run anti-spyware/adware progs? Here is a guide I've used to shut off unused services in windows.

Windows Service Guide

Unless you are sure about which services you need and which you don't, leave them alone. However, if you feel confident in your knowledge of your OS, shutting down unnecessary services can really lighten your resource load and speed boot times.

For disabling startup programs, I'd suggest Ccleaner. As well as cleaning out files, its got a simple to use startup file thing built in...
