So I went down to Best Buy today and picked up Liberty City Stories...and a thought occurred. I don't have the original GTA4 yet. I've heard you can use Liberty City Stories as an addon to Grand Theft Auto 4 if you have GTA4 already installed, but I was wondering...if I install Liberty City Stories, and then install Grand Theft Auto 4 afterward, will LCS stack with GTA4? Or will they be two separate applications? Can I install these in reverse order?

I guess you mean "Episodes from Liberty City" ? Yes they are separate, you don't need to have one installed to play the other. It's standalone expansion. You don't need to play IV to understand the story and the characters too, because they are all different characters with different stories.

GTA EFLC is separate, GTA EFLC bought from LIVE is DLC. What you have will always be separate.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

I know this. What I'm asking is if it's possible to play all three stories under a single application if I install in reverse order.

Are you sure? I could've sworn that the two games could be combined.

You were already addressed mate, you can't combine them somehow. They are both separate applications.

The only way to "combine" them is to re-purchase the Episodes from Liberty City as DLC from the Games For Windows marketplace. When you start GTA 4 up you get a screen that allows you to "choose" wihether to play GTA4 or play The Lost and Damned or Ballad of Gay Tony. That screen only works if you have the episodes in download form though.

That is about as close as you can get to "combining" the Episodes into GTA 4 though, you will never see game assets in the Episodes appearing in GTA 4. Basically the addons are not really addons but seperate games using the same city and that is it really.
