So i really want to get into EVE. I tried once but failed, the learning curve beat me down. I wanna give it a second chance. I know it would be a smarter idea to go post over at EVEs community but i want to give it a shot here first so i can play with some fellow gspotters.

Basically, is there anyone down to give a complete noob a hand in learning the game? I'd prefer if you or your corp or what ever had voice chat, makes things waaay easier. I just really need some people who are willing to put up with a ton of stupid noob questions frome me and help me learn the game cuz it looks like a ton of fun! once you get the hang out of it

thanks :)

I highly recommend joining EVE University. My corp does not recruit newer players, but we have pulled recruits from them and they are very knowledgeable. They do a wide variety of activites ranging from mining to full blown PVP engagements. Check them out: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Applying_to_EVE_University

I would recommend joining a null sec alliance as soon as possible, Test Alliance Please Ignore or Goonswarm both recruit Day 1 newbies although you must be a part of Dreddit for Test or Something Awful for Goons to join their main corps.

I highly recommend downloading ISK the Guide. Download the free PDF and read through some of it. Some of the info is a little dated but it'll definetly set you in the right direction. As other above me said, join a corp. Teamwork and Corps are a huge part in EVE. EVE is meant to work in teams and communicate in teams. You can try going solo the entire time but believe me, it sucks and you won't get to do anything.

Let me ask you a few things too. What are you intersted in EVE? Mining? PVP? PVE? And what are some long term goals for you?

Problem with this, is that those null sec alliance's probably wouldn't accept a day 1 account, assuming they think he's a spy for another corp.

If your minmitar, I'd definitely recommend you to use a Rifter for PVP, at least to start with. Just keep it mind that PVP in EVE is VERY unforgiving and expect to die a lot.

May I ask why? PVE in fleets of 25+ pilots is extremely fun, lol. Oh and on mining. It's a tad boring to do by yourself so try and find a corp that does mining ops.

Ive played GW and WoW and never really found PvE to be very fun. I almost never play singleplayer shooters only multiplayer and never play the campaigns of RTS, only online matches haha. Basically when ever im gaming im almost always wanting to play against human opponents.

Cross training is okay, and I use okay lightly. A good Caldari PVP tackler would be a Merlin(frigate).

Thing about EVE is that a PVE situation can turn into a PVP situation lol and quick.

Heh, I'm a Gallente Pilot as well. Like in the above post, cross training is fine if you like other races' ships. A nice Gallente PvP frigate is the Incursus.

Seriously I would really recommend joining a very active and very noobie-wlecoming corporation. The difference in enjoyment and gameplay experience between solo play and being involved in a corporation is like night and day. Eve University is highly recommended, recognised, VERY respected and very active. But there are also numerous other alliances and corporations that would recruit noobies very very happily.
