Well... you could use those as testers. Would hurt a bit but would work... a joke.Lol but no were talking about voltage testers. Those are screw drivers. Hire an electrician.

No actually I know what he's talking about, it's screwdriver with a voltage testing circuit built in, one of those that work with magnetism, they're quite common here at least.husssni, the problem with that tester is that it will react to any close-by voltage source, no matter what you stick it into in the outlet, it "feels" the hot wire just because it's nearby, because it works thanks to the magnetic fields around.
To actually do any useful testing you have to get a multimeter that can measure voltage in numbers, and check what you have between the existing connections in the outlet. In a normal outlet you should have mains voltage between the hot and neutral (I don't know what mains voltage you have in your country, in Finland it's 230 VAC), mains voltage between hot and ground, and 0 volts between neutral and ground.
To be honest though, like motokid said, I would prefer that you'd just try to get an electrician to check this since you're obviosuly worried about it.
