I have a partition. The total capacity is about 23,6 GB. I want to install NTW and i erased all i had on that partition. But it says that 3 GB are still occupied. I can't see any folder on partition. I also deleted all the hidden files. I checked with a program and it says that aren'y any programs installed. I also tried to FORMAT but it says to close any procees which uses the partition.

Please ... i need some advices. Maybe if you know some programs or so tricks to erase all partition. I want to play NTW !

Boot from your Windows disc. Select the partition you want to format and it should erase everything on it. If this doesn't help, then your HDD might have a lot of bad sectors that fill those 3GB.

You can't repair them, they're permanent.

You can get an Ubuntu Live Disk. That will let you clean up the HDD, or see if it actually is physical damage to your HDD (If it is, be glad its only 3gbs).

Thank you, but the Unlocker doesn't work.

also it's impossible to be a hardware problem. After i deleted all my games ( Assassin's Creed 2 and Empire total war ) from partition it was 23,6 FREE out of 23,6 TOTAL. After i entered the first Napoleon Total War DVD in the PC 3 GB were occupied and made unavailable. I tried a lot of stuffs but nothing works.

Could be a hidden HIDDEN folder with, among other things, windows backups. I had it on my F drive for some odd reason and it took about 6 GB. Check in your folder visibility options and turn on the feauture that lets you see hidden windows files and folders. It's a seperate option from viewing regular hidden files.
