GOG.com giving away Alien vs. Predator 2000 for free

In an attempt for GOG to test out their multiplayer beta for GOG Galaxy, they are giving away AVP 2000 for free here. GOG Galaxy is the new GOG client they want to release that's similar to things like Steam and Origin, but still maintains drm-free gaming (and it's an entirely optional download; you can still download games directly from the website if you'd rather do that).

Normally, I wouldn't be one to announce that GOG is giving away a free game, but what I really wanted to bring to everyone's attention is that GOG is trying to get online multiplayer working for old games? At least I assume that's the goal here, and that is amazing, so anyone interested should support this.

That game was great at the time. Nearly as good as the Jaguar version was ;)

Sounds like a dream come true. AVP 2000 was one of my favorite multiplayer games back in the day. Assymetrical matches were my favorite.

Classic. Still the best aliens game imo. Redux mod advised. Leaps it forward a few years without fucking up the art direction or gameplay.
