To get it out the way, i understand that 32bit operating systems cannot utilise 4GB or memory, but 2GB modules are so cheap and i want to keep things running in dual channel. Would it be worth adding an extra 2GB to my system.rest of specs are in sig.

Well since Xp (and Vista 32-bit) only can use ~3,3GB RAM I think its safe to say that it wouldnt really be worth to buy 2 extra gigs. However if you want, you could go up to 3GB RAM and if you find dirt cheap 2GB sticks you might aswell buy one of those instead. It all comes down how much you are willing to spend to those extra .3GB Ram

i could but if i just bought 1GB, my memory wouldnt be running in dual-channel, so wouldnt it be better to get a pair of 1GB modules.

Buy a 2 gig stick, boosts performance a bit and for a low price. I did the same and on the same OS as you.

im using OCZ RAM and i cant seem to find a pair of OCZ 512MB Modules, hence why im thinking of just going for the extra 2GB becsaue i seem to only have that only optin and if i just add 1GB then it wont be in dual channel.

just get a 2gb stick, I've got two 2gb sticks in single channel and its fine. Just get the 2gb stick, theyre cheap. If you live in the UK look on www.play.com they have the best prices that I have seen for RAM
