Just bought an MSI 6950. Love it to death. However my mobo has some components on it that are dying and my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU. I have and old 2.8 GHZ Phenom X II Black Edition. I have been waiting forever for the Bulldozer to come out which is why I still have my old CPU. But I have been an AMD user for a very long time. I am curious as to the benefits of switching over to Intel. I hear many amazing things about their chips.

I never buy new tech on launch day so it wil still be a while before I purchase a Bulldozer if I go that route. However it seems Intel has some amazing chips on the market that obviously have been out for a while. I do not really have a budget......however what I am looking for the most is something that will last a while. Not a chip that will be outdated im a few months. If that means the most expensive chip then so be it. But I am really looking for something to stand the test of time, at least for a bit longer than the usual (very hard to not be outdated in the tech world)

I'd be running games by the way. No vid editing or anything like that. And I am aware I need new RAM and a MOBO. I am just really interested in the Intel chips at the moment.

If your not in any rush you might as well wait just a few more months for the brand spanking new Intel chips. They will for sure be awesome.

I never had any problems ever with and Intel chip. I did have problems with AMD though... But that was back in the day with the 486 processor,AMD K6-2 and K8.

ThoughI did have some what good luck now and then withAMD. I just preferIntel.

Alot of games like Intel and some games like AMD. AMD is more budget minded andIntel is more power user minded.
