I want to build a new PC, but I don't really know about the technical stuff. I found some good parts on Newegg, but I don't know if they are compatible or anything. I mean, I know the basics like the RAM, Sound cards, graphics cards, motherboard. Just not which ones are compatible.

I just find it really confusing. When it gets past how many Gigs a card has, or GHz of a Processor.

So anyways... I want you guys to reccomend some parts for me, within a $650-$700 range. Something that can run a game max (or close) on Crysis, or Mass Effect 2, or Bioshock 2.

So, thanks for the help.:D

$25.35 more will get you:
.
EDIT: 4850s are back in stock. If you don't care about DX11, you can save some money with this.

Alright, thanks!:D One problem though. The processor I'm using now is a Dual Core 3.4 GHz, so it's a little better. So I might just save money and use mine. But it's Intel. Does that still work?

I recommend at least a GTX 260. I have a 5770 and a 2.8ghz Phenom II X3 (4th core enabled). Crysis at 1440x900 was playable enough at 30-45fps with DX10/2xAA/High-Very High settings. The framerates did drop to 25 fps (but still playable) at the very end right after killing the big boss. At a higher res, I imagine frame rates will be a bit more jerky at times unless I resort to the -dx9 switch which adds another 10 fps at the expense of some eye candy.

So yup. I wouldn't go lower than a GTX 260 (just a gauge of my comfort zone for the game).

Most other games with the exception of Flight Simulator X run fine though so long as you don't ratchet up the antialiasing too much.

Okay. But I also save money on the Processor since I think I'm just gonna use mine. Anything but a Quad Core would be a downgrade.:D

MaoTheChimp

It's the C3 version of the X2 550. Basically what the X2 550 was, but with a few improvements, such as a more stable IMC. It also comes with a faster clock rate as well :D

Sorry, I should've clarified my question a bit more. I was wondering what processor the OP is using with the 3.4GHz clock rate, as I suspect that it may be a Pentium D.
