i am looking for a good 50 to 60 inch tv for my game room, to replace my old 42 inch LCD RCA TV. I do not want a 3D, just something good for Xbox/PS gaming, maybe down the road i may use it for a small gaming pc. not looking to spend would like to keep spending in the 1000 range. NCIX has some Plasma's on sale, but kind of iffy on plasmas

The Panasonic ST50 outperforms every 2011 flagship TV (excluding the Sharp Elite at $7000), it is also one of the best rated displays of 2012. For $1100 the ST50 should be your only option.

Not that good of a TV. The Panasonic ST50 is a much better deal. If its out of your budget, go for the UT50. If that's still too much.. Well there's always the Samsung PNE450/PNE535 which boast decent images for the money.
