Good Action/Adventure games?

hey im askin if any of you could reccomend some adventure type games. Id prefer if you could move around instead of point and click. i like horror themes, fantasy themes and other types

Sanitarium (It's point and click but you can move everywhere), Call Of Cthulhu: DCOTE (It's on first person but shooting isn't the main point of the game), Darksiders, Devil May Cry 4, Shadow Of Destiny, etc.

So open world action games like Mafia series Red faction series assasin creed are not ''action games'' but ''sandbox games''? what the differnce? they have action too so they are action games just because they are open world dosent change that.

I would like to add a few more action games that i just remeber

thanks for the reccomendations people, a few of them ive played, and a few of them arnt the kind of agmes im lookin for. Im thinkin more along the lines of games like myst or Amnesia (so scary like wtf lol) you know, more about the puzzle solving and story then the action

action adventure implies linear paths and puzzle solving.. such as tomb raider or splinter cell but they also have action

action adventure titles can include rpg elements while not being rpg's themselves

examples of the genre are:

primal

darksiders

onimusha series

DmC series

kingdom hearts

wh40k: space marine

god of war

etc.

mafia II is forced to follow a story and is amde linear by it.. there are other things to dob ut the story is the onyl way to go anywhere or do anything.. its story confines it, while its world doesnt its action/adventure

assassins creed follows mafia II nearly flawlessly as its this exact same thing that confines it but it has the addition of "stealth elements"

a sandbox implies an open word you can fully involve yourself with.

in red faction you can go anywhere (with limitations) and ahve a blast, and never need to actually do anything to get anywhere.

sandbox titles include:

cop: the recruit

mafia I

mercenaries 1 & 2

just cause 1 & 2

gta

saints row

miami: law

scarface: the world is yours

yakuza

etc.

their defined by limitless boundaries with lots to see and do and no need to progress a story to still do stuff.

assassins creed by definition si an enigma.. its part action/adventure, part stealth/action, part sandbox

driver i removed simply due to the franchises history such as parallel lines or driver 2 and felt it best to ear ont he side of caution.

Aura: Fate of the Ages is supposed to be good. I have a friend who loved it.

Safecracker is surprisingly good as well, though mainly for the puzzles and not the story.

Azada looks cool too, and I've read favorable reviews.

Having played Red Faction- Guerrilla, I feel safe in saying that it's an action/adventure game. It fits into a few different genres.

Another game that I consider to be as much an action/adventure game as it is an RPG, is Mass Effect 2. The first ME was much more of an RPG, but they watered-down those elements a LOT for the 2nd game.
