I am looking to purchase an aftermarket cooler for the LGA 1155 CPU socket, but I am not sure which ones are the best. Something priced reasonable is what I am aiming for, but also something that will perform quite well. Any recommendations?

It certainly has the best reviews out of all the ones I have seen. Plus, it should fit right into my HAF 932 perfectly. Thanks!

The Hyper 212 Plus, Thermaltake Frio and Gelid Tranquilo (runs a few degrees hotter than the other two, but much quieter based on what I've read) are the usual suspects.

Or if you want to spend a bit more money you could get the best cooler on the market

Just make sure your case is big enough

Depends on how much he is going to overclock. If not he is better off with the hyper 212 or the Frio.

the silver arrow and nh-d14 are virtually identical in performance
