if your budget is up to $100 you can probably get better than this but they worked well for the price IMO.

at above 75% max volume u might notice distortion on some songs.

if you wanted a $60 5.1 system check this out. I'm using those with my on board HD audio CODEC ATM and it's awesome! no distortion even at 100% volume and its suprisingly easy to make 'em fit, especially since u can mount the speakers.

Ugh I wouldn't recommend Logitech. I wouldn't recommend a 2.1 setup for $100 either, once you spend a little more than $100 you can get a signficant step up in quality, because just about all <$100 2.1 systems blow. As for the X-530s, mine couldn't go very loud without distortion at all (and far from 100%...more like 50%?).

You should check these out instead...

do you have a sound card or audio codec? cause when i wasnt using one i would agree with you but once i did there was no distortion at 100% volume

edit: not everyone is as into this stuff as you might be. maybe spending less is more important than better quality. people have different priorities, and for ~$40 i was really happy with those logitech z313's

The OP said budget was $100, they want something better than Logitech, and no offense, but judging by your posts and the fact that you don't know what an audio codec is, maybe you shouldn't be giving advice.

can u post a significantly better 2.1 set up for under $100 AFTER tax/shipping?

like sum1 else said, for under $100 ur not getting something very good. why spend more than 40 bucks for something that still isnt that good?

he said under $100 man, he's likely not all that picky! i sincerely think he would care more about savings, that's why im posting this for him

Look on ebay and find a vintage stereo amplifier and pair it with some budget (or vintage from ebay again) bookshelf speakers and you have better sounding music than any logitech speakers.

I second the M-Audio.
