What is your price raange TC.... If you at 600, you looking pretty good. If you looking in the 700-800 dollar range, definitely go sandy bridge intel wise for the best performance to price ratio.

Also, GTX 460 abosolutely destroys a 550ti.. Def avoid the 550ti or the gtx 450.

pretty easy yeah we have a guide here on these same forums stickied and with pictures!

anyway i recommend taking it one step further and getting a 5770 or if the price is right a 6790, 5850 or 5830 as stated by someone else a 460 768mb eats the stuffing out of a 550ti anyday. those are what i recommend from me to you if you want better value for your dollar beyond that TC your basically golden

here are a few to consider actually:

Building a PC is very easy, you just need to watch a couple videos on Youtube first!

If you're looking for performance with a little less stability then go for the ATI cards, they are cheaper and offer the same amount of power as Nvidia's models in that price range. But if you're looking for stability I would definitely recommend Nvidia. With Nvidia all is easy, you just plug it and play without problems. Ati's on the other hand offer better performance but might have some issues with game compatibility. Your choice. :) And yes, the 460 the blow the s_t out of 550 any time!

you are looking good. Most games should run on high settings at 1080p One word of advice if you havent bought your stuff change the motherboard to an AM3+ motherboard the one you have is AM3 ( Am3+ mobos have a black cpu socket ) . That way the mobo will be compatible with upcoming AM3+ cpus from AMD so you wont be limited when and if you wanna upgrade in 2-3 years ( AM3+ mobos should cost you $20-30 more but totally worth it in order to make your pc as future proof as possible )

the first newegg official mobo for am3+ hit today.. If you go this budget, def get a am3+ mobo so you can update later to a bulldozer cpu for better performance down the line

gigabyte am3+ mobo $104.99
