good free recording programs?

ok topic. fraps files are ridiculous in size, game cam is perfect but no sound.

any other suggestions?

why do say the frap files are too big ?. I use fraps with no problems and the quailty is outstanding .

litterly with fraps , what you see on the screen is exactly how fraps records it . cant beat that.

i meant in size, a 30 second recording comes out to about 100+ mbsDjmaster214

use windows movie maker or any Vid editing program to bring the size down . I post high res vids on youtube that are about 5 min long and only about 12 megs.

also your wrong - you can have High resoloution videos and small files . do your homework , before you start yapping .

100 megs for a 30second vid -- isnt right , nuff said . that would be quantum super high pitch sattelite imaging technology.

LOL... just need to resize it. fraps uses uncompressed recording, thats why the vids can be large..redo them in movie maker or another program.

past 6 yrs ive been working 3d animations and Special effects vids. All  that aside I still LOVE you Man . :lol: :D

I feel the love here... but about the original comment the size isn't that big considering 1TB external drives are merely a few hundred bucks.. unlike the past when one TB cost you 10K (see PC Magazine back in 1995).. I think most people have small drives in their comps for the mere reason that it doesn't take much space to place a game on there. But once you start playing with videos you will soon see that a good storage size is the best deal you can get..

 Divx videos (DVD quality) for example are 1Gb per hour roughly..  Compare that to your standard MP3 file .. 1Mb per minute.. roughly and you got 60mb per hour of music. (with stereo). Thus the size of your drive and what you consider large is relative to what you do with your comp. 

Im watching Crysis High def trailer vids right now for the 100th time,  so dont bother me.. Cya tomorrow .

Judging your arguement seems that you're both 12 or something.

Try searching SouceForge, they have a lot of freesoftware.
