I've just bought a gamepad, could you reccomend some decent PC games that support gamepads.

Dirt or any other decent racing game.
Psychonauts should be played with a gamepad. Platformers and KB + M just don't match (at least for me).
I play Gears of War with a controller, can't say why, used to it, I guess.
Overlord
Dreamfall
Oblivion, since you know, it's a port (unless you're into bows).
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (if you're into that kind of games)
Res Evil 4
Tomb raider games (only played Legend and Anniversary, both are good imo)
Splinter Cell games (I prefer to use a controller, because it's a stealth game, you're not supposed to shoot like a maniac all the time)
And Crysis (just kidding)
Here is a fairly complete list of games that natively support gamepads (though some require the 360 controller). If you don't have a 360 controller, you may want to consider picking one up, as it's sort of becoming the de facto PC gamepad (and it's really good, anyway)

I know it hasn't been updated in a month, but it does get updated fairly regularly. If it ever stops being updated there, I would start maintaining my own version of the list. I just prefer gamepads.
Also, you may want to download Xpadder. It's a free program that allows you to add gamepad support to any PC game. Now, it doesn't magically make the games comparable with a console version of the game (such as FPS won't have any aim-assist), but you can add it to a lot of games and have a decent time with it. I'm currently playing Half-Life 2 with my gamepad, even though it doesn't have native support.
Here are some really good games with gamepad:
Assassins Creed 1-2
Batman Arkham Asylum
Prince of Persia
Lego SW,IJ,Batman...
Prototype
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Tomb Raider
Stubbs the Zombie
Sport games(Fifa,PES,NHL,NBA,NFL...)
Racing games(Burnout Paradise,NFS,FlatOut,DiRT....)
Basically any racing game (NFS: Hot Pursuit, Burnout Paradise, FUEL, Flatout: Ultimate Carnage) and most console ports (GTA IV). If you're into retro games, Jazz Jackrabbit 2 works very well with a controller.
Oblivion, since you know, it's a port (unless you're into bows).artur79
I tried my 360 controller on that game and I actually couldn't get it to work. It also triggered a bug where everything went slowmo until I unplugged it. So it's probably not a good idea to start with that game.
you can actually use a gamepad for crysis. but it has to be the pc version of the xbox360 controller. crysis is a games for windows. it has it written large on the top section of the box. all games for windows have to support this controller as this comes under some of the criterior for being a game for windowslitchfieldbears
All games for windows games do NOT have to support the 360 controller. They only have to support the 360 controller IF controllers are supported, they cant support a logitech controller and not a 360 controller for instance. Want an example? Bioshock 2..games for windows..no 360 controller support (or any other for that matter) and there are plenty of others.

Not entirely true. My brother plays GTA IV with a cheap Logitech controller.

Did you read my post tho? gta4 also supports the 360 controller...games for windows just requires if there is gamepad support the 360 controller has to be supported also, which it is in gta4. Any number of gamepads can be supported but the 360 HAS to be supported also in games for windows games. However, if there is no gamepad support what so ever, then the 360 controller does not have to be suopported, like Bioshock 2.
Resident Evil 4
Street Fighter IV
Burnout Paradise
Defense Grid
Platform games like Super Meat Boy, Braid, Trine
