I have a fairly new laptop with dual 1.6 GHz processors and 2 GB of RAM, but my video card sucks. It is just the intel family chip thing. What are some good games that I can still run without having a good graphics card? And, I know this is a noob question, but is it possible to upgrade my graphics card in my laptop? Are there laptop specific graphics cards?

Edit: On systemrequirementslab.com it said I could run Half life 2 and UT 2004 perfectly. Maybe to narrow it down; what are some games with similar requirements?

Thanks.

It would be helpful if we new specifically what your integrated chip was, e.g. GMA950 or X3100...

Try downloading GPU-z if your not sure

Left 4 dead

Deus Ex

SWAT 4 (co-op with friends beats L4D)

Morrowind

Mafia

Vice City

GTA 3

AVP2

Postal 2

Gun

MGS (maybe MGS 2 depending on your audio specs)

Hitman 1 (the only Hitman game worth playing)

Resident Evil 1-3

Max Payne 1 and 2 and Jedi knight 2: Jedi Outcast (using cheats you can bind set speed to keys - unlimited bullettime, enough said)

Silent Hill 1-4

Operation Flashpoint

Soldier of Fortune

Enter the Matrix (again, using cheats this game is lifted a lot)

The Suffering 1 and 2

NwN (using cheats to unlock all spells etc right out of the box)

Most of the games people are recommending probably wouldn't run very well on your PC unless you don't mind playing minimum graphics settings at a low resolution with less than optimal framerates and long loading times.

I would personally recommend pre-2000 games like Half-Life, Age of Empires 2, Roller Coaster Tycoon, etc. There are also a lot of new Indie games such as Aquaria and World of Goo that should run well on your PC.

Warcraft III and expansion 4. NFS Most Wanted I am sure these games will work, too: 1. Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 2. GTA Vice City 3. Medal of Honor 4. Call of Duty etc.

Half Life 2 and Counter Strike Source should run well since they're reliant on the central processing unit. Nevertheless, I would personally try to stay away from games like Team Fortress 2 and later release games using the Source Engine, as the play experience will be very uncomfortable bud. Games from the year 2000/2001 and below should be a sweet spot for your laptop.

I don't think Jade Empire works on that laptop. I had a desktop with 7600GS earlier, and that wouldn't run the game on high. So even if the game works, it would probably be at lowest, so it won't look pretty at all. So if I were you, I would think about it.

Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition!!! This game will run on almost any PC if you love Chess, the CPU is very clever and can beat you easily. It is the latest chessmaster release from UBI.

If you want action FPS shooter perhaps play Frontlines Fuel of War, Call of Duty 4 doesn't take much power it will run even on integrated chipsets!

Look at Tom Clancys Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Tomb Raider Underworld is great, you could try that:D

A fantastic game called Indiana Jones and the Emperors tomb its a 2003 game but it sheer rocks! The game is similar to Uncharted Drakes Fortune (PS3 game).

FIFA 09 PC amazing runs on any computer lol, and PES 2009! Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08.

Infernal is also good.

But these games arent really terrific though. There are plenty of better games you can run on that system. Maybe FIFA 09 :D. Tomb Raider is great especially AOD itwill run even on my 6 year oldlaptopwith theAti Radeon 7500 Graphics card.

Only problem being AOD is a terrible game. Playing other tomb raider games would be much more recommended, especially Tomb Raider 4.

That's true but again the graphics of tomb raider aod are very good but the gameplays just a bit daft, but I still ejoyed it though especially derelict apartment block level. I personally love the newest TR gamesespecially underworld, laras sexy there. But I think one of the best old tomb raider games were Tomb Raider Chronicles, that was the first and onlyTR game that I completed.

I really don't know what to make out of Tomb Raider Chronicles. I think it was a last effort to make some money off the Tomb Raider engine before they went on to develop AoD.

If you enjoyed Tomb Raider Chronicles, I am quite sure you would like Tomb Riader 4 as well. Its a much better game,
