Do you think a laptop with a 15.4in Display at 1280x800, Core 2 Duo T9300 CPU at 2.5Ghz 6mb L2 cache, 4gigs of 667MHz Ram, 512MB 8600GT, and 200gig HD at 7200RPM is a good deal for $1300?

What kinds of settings can i expect to play games like UT3, COD4 and C&C3 at with decent framerates?

Definately get the Gateway with the 8800M GTS. It'll run Crysis and Gears of War on High.

should i go with the gateway or should i go with an AVA Direct laptop with a 8600GT? the ava has a better CPU at 2.2GHz with 4 mb of cache instead of the gateway at 2Ghz with 2mb of cache. so which would be better for gaming? does the 8800 make that big of a difference and would the AVA laptops CPU be that much better than the gateway?

The 8800 is quite a bit more powerful than the 8600. I'd go with the gateway.

Definitely the gateway. The 8800 will be well worth it.
