There is NO laptop that can play games any good for $1000.

Though,if you can spend $1100,look intoa AVADirect Compal FL90 Core 2 Duo Performance Notebook

Get it with these specs:

Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2GHz.
256MB 8600M GT.
Corsair 2x1GB DDR2 667.
XP Home OEM or vista if you want vista.
