whats the big hubub with gaming on a laptop? if your willing to spend like $1500 on one your gonna get a high end machine that will run anything thats out today on max settings. get one with a nice 17" monitor, pickup a mouse and i dont see what the problem is.

sure the BEST laptop isnt as powerful as the BEST desktop, but i think we get a little to picky with the specs sometimes. people saying now that a 7900gs sucks? these games arent designed to be running on the best of the best hardware. you think the majority of people have one of your $3000 gaming rigs with 4 gigs of ram, a terabyte harddrive, dual 8800's? No freaking way!

but i suppose they are harder to upgrade...

Yep, I'm perfectly happy with my $1500 laptop I got last Summer. It can still run almost everything on max (Supreme Commander only exception I've run across.)  But I would reccomend Dell. Get the XPS line if you are looking to upgrade in the future, but be aware that a nice one will run you upwards of $2500. Or you could just wait for a deal on their Inspiron line (there was a 33% off deal going on as well as my 12% college disount.) I don't thing that the XPS line gets any deals like that. Happy hunting :)

yeah i was lookin at this one here for a while

http://configure.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=ca&CS=cadhs1&l=en&OC=94002P_F_2E

best deal i've seen so far on a laptop. i'm only lookin to spend around $1500 or so but i'll probably wait a month or two for the dx10 cards to come out.

and whats this about a 12% college discount??
