I am looking for a game on steam that will keep me occupied for a long while but I need the game to be around $20 is this possible? Are there any good games that match this description? I would perfer if it wouldn't be an RTS as I have many of those.

Company of Heroes is $20. I see you like Civ so Hearts of Iron 2 maybe something you would like (try the demo) for $25.

I never thought I would get into Counter Strike : Source, but I spent dozens of hours on that. Maybe the Orange Box for $30? You get all HL2 games, Team Fortress and Portal. Another plug for Killing Floor too. Great fun. 8)

If your into RTS get Company of Heroes, its lasted me a very long time.

If you want some free fun made mods try Zombie panic and Empires.

I really want Killing Floor. I agree with the Orange Box. It's a really good value.

I second that. Even if you are not a fan of adventure game, the story is worth it. The sequel is good too.

Right now on Steam look at Half Life 2 through Episode 2. They are having a great deal on all games Half Life. Episode 1 and 2 could take you about 10-12 hours. And I'm not sure how long Half Life 2 took, but good nonetheless. Plus, they can come with MP games to also hold your attention.

Orange Box, 5 games in one. Team Fortress 2 alone has incredible replay value, and Portal, though short, has some great user-created level mods that greatly adds to its replayability. And having Half-Life 2 and all of its expansions doesn't hurt either. I have over 100 hours in TF2, and that's JUST THE SPY too.

If you're a fan of Civ, you must play Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri if you haven't already. http://www.direct2drive.com/153/product/Buy-Sid-Meier%27s-Alpha-Centauri-Guide-Download

Do you have a link to where a person might buy the actual game?

Unfortunately the game stopped being sold back in the early 00's. You'd be hard pressed to find it now via legal channels outside of ebay. Don't even waste your time trying to find it's expansion pack, Alien Crossfire, either. That thing was impossible to find even when it was still being sold.

Yeah, it was easier to find Alien Crossfire pkg'd in the Planetary Pack or EA's "The Laptop Collection" (Centauri, Crossfire, Red Alert 2, SimCity3K, T.Wood's Golf) than as a stand-alone.

Sold-Out Software's "AC dbl-pack" is currently $13 (US) on ebay!!
