Dude, I think they are exactly the same, except the X-540 is the updated version of the x-530. The specs seem to be about the same, so if you don't care about OEM, I would get the X-530

spend 150$ more and get the z-5500 like i have..... Absolutely amazing. You want to spend a lot of money on surround sound. Because you get what you pay for. If you get a cheap set it will sound like a cheap set.

I sprang for the z-5300e...it's 135 and it's amazing for the price. I used to use Z-640's, which were awesome but hard to come by anymore...but a 280W 5.1 setup for 135 + s/h? As Borat would say, "Niiiiiiiice."
