It's not right away, but you should sign up for the beta of Fallen Earth. It's an MMO set in a post-apocalyptic world. Amazingly fun.
Perfect world international is pretty fun and shayia is alright too but i like perfect world better

Well, that's one way to make your opinion known.
If u like scifi and spacesims try EVE-Online. Its fun but takes time to learn.
Or if u want some superhero action try City of heroes & city of villans. it is a good game with good group action :)
OR if u liked wow you should change it to runes of magic. Its like wow but FREE! ;)

I play this game. It's great for a casual player, and is normaly played windowed so you can push it to the side of your hopefully widescreen monitor and browse the web as you manually "Warp to 0 on stargate" a dozen times to get in between missions. It can be tedious but you skill in real-time which is great for a casual player such as myself, and is a great game to play with music while your browse forums if you're not doing an op with your clan. You WILL need to invest in a couple months of grinding to get anywhere in the game, and get enough money to get into some bigger ships. I don't know if it's necessarily your thing if you're a WoW player though...
A lot of people argue it's not an MMO, but Guild Wars is fun and w/o monthly fees it's a nice little distraction between other titles. That's why I like it at least. It's great with other people, but when you simply want to advance the story/progress w/o dealing with a**hats, you can always round out the party with AI and still, usually, make it through just fine. Also, w/o a monthly fee, you can jump in and out w/o feeling any sort of compulsion to play b/c you're paying. Bioshock 2 just came out? No problem. Play it your hearts content, GW will be there waiting for you the second you feel like a break! And it's easy to catch up with friends, especially if you all run under the same ideals. That's been the case with me and my friends at least. Also, it is a truly fun game to play. And the reward system based around skill (and earing "skills") is a nice change of pace imo.
Fantasy: Shaiya, Cabal, Rakion, WoW, Guild Wars
Sci-Fi: Star Wars MMO and Star Trek MMO (not yet released but you can wait.

Hmm I have never felt forced to play Eve even though I subscribe :? I've even gone weeks without playing, except to log in every few days to make sure something's queued. It costs 50 cents a day to play. If you work, or even if you don't, it's still almost nothing compared to other expenses. With Eve you skill even when you are offline, so it sounds like a good game for someone of your mindset

For me, when I spending the money, I feel like I need to be using it. From paying the mortgage to paying the water bill, I feel like I need to be getting the most of my money (that's left). That's why I felt a necessity to play a game I'm playing for. With Wow, for example, it doesn't matter if I play for 6 hours or 6 minutes, I paid the same amount. Although I do dig on the on the idea of earning a little something while I'm knocking back a few at the bars on a friday night with my coworkers (hey, gotta celebrate the end of the week somehow, right?). That is, honestly, kinda cool and more power to the devs for it! It's just that the idea of just jumping in and out at will from a game, any game really, is truly the sweet spot with me. No ties, no contracts, no nothing. I just want to kick back and relax with a little entertainment at my leisure, w/o having to sign on to a contract, bills and all, just to kill the next couple hours on a sunday evening before the he** of work kicks in the next day, you know? :)[QUOTE="True_Sounds"][QUOTE="elemental_drago"]

Wouldn't want to waste money just for the sake of skilling, but I play it on and off enough to make paying worthwhile. If I didn't skill in real-time I would consider cancelling the subcribtion, because I play offline games a whole lot more than Eve
