Good non-RTS strategy game?

I'm worn down on RTS. I'm looking for a good strategy alternative. Already played through a good bit of Heroes of Mights & Magic. I picked up Civ 4 but I don't really want to get that involved with anything.

Suggestions?

There's the new X-COM games (Afterlight and Extraterrestrial), Laser Squad Nemesis, the Combat Mission games, Age of Wonders 2, Disciples 2, the Sim City games, The Movies...

Really, there's quite a few strategy games that aren't RTS.

Perhaps you're better off going back to RTS games then, because Civ4 is not exactly "deep".

Ascession to the Throne. I played it a few weeks ago... finished it and I thought it was pretty good. Its kind of like rpg type movement but when you fight it becomes turn based strategy like heroes or AoW2 where you have a small army. Plus its got pretty decent rpg depth too (not as much as an actual rpg game since its still strategy).

I don't know where its released or what the date is... but well i'm just sayin' cuz i played it and i think you might like it.
