Hi, I just wanted to see what people thought about this PC I might be getting. Good for intense gaming and performance? Here are the specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Dual-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology

MOTHERBOARD: MSI K9N4 SLI-F nForce 500 SLI Chipset DDR2/800 SATA-II RAID MBoard w/ Dual 16x PCI-Express

MEMORY:2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory

VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 256MB 16X PCI Express

VIDEO CARD 2: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 256MB 16X PCI Express

HARD DRIVE: Single Hard Drive (320GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD)

Costs $1282 WITH Windows Vista and Microsoft office.

I'm not so sure about the CPU, since the Intel Core 2 Duo/Quad offerings are apparently the way to go now. (Probably because they overclock like crazy, yielding plenty of bang for the buck.) Also, unless you have to have your HD video decoded almost entirely by the graphics card, you'll probably want to dump the SLI 8500 GTs for a single 8800 GTS. Everything else looks good, except that I don't see a mention of a SB X-Fi XtremeMusic or better sound card(avoid the XtremeAudio, it lacks the X-Fi chip). All gaming systems ought to have discrete sound cards. ...Oh, wait, I should note that this is NOT the forum for PC HARDWARE discussion, but for PC GAMES. Not a problem with me, but the mods could get after you for that.

I wouldnt go with 8500sli....thats like having mid range 7 series cards with dx10 :lol:, it isnt much of an upgrade.Save your cash and get an 8800gts at the very least (they're like $280)

srsly, ditch ati cpu/mobo. go for much better core 2 or quad cores. and how much do those two 8500s cost? u can probably get much better performance by a single gts and im betting its cheaper (320meg)

What size is your monitor because SLI only benefits you with reallyhigh resolutions. In truth and in fact SLI is just a way to get you to spend more money on video cards. If you look at th benchmarks SLI doesn't do much. It's cheaper to just get one better video card.
