I would recommend going to GoG.com (very secure and highly regarded site) and checking out thier selection of older games. They have some of all time best strategy games as well as any other genres you might be interested in. Check them out you won't regret it.

Perhaps the OP could give us the their system specs?

The Total War games, up to Medieval Total War 2. Beyond that, the hardware requirments go a bit steep for the later Total War games.

All the current Command & Conquer titles.

Bioshock, possibly Bioshock 2.

If your computer can play Skyrim, perhaps you could try the Fallout games? Or the Elder Scrolls Oblivion.

Gog.com is an excellent place for older PC games. With titles on their from the 80's, 90's and 00's. They all run on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. The realy cool thing about GOG is that the games you buy have no DRM, so you can burn them to disc and install them on other machines if you like.

Lol, it's defiantly bigger in scale, but COD will have Superior shaders, textures etc.

Yes, but according to his post, he can play Skyrim (possibly low graphics). If that is the case, it should be able to run Oblivion and Bioshock, both of which can be run in DirectX 9, which is a lot less resource hungry. Also Oblivion and Fallout 3 are very scalable on the PC.

The latest COD games will be non starters. Black OPs II is optimised for DirectX 11 graphics cards, and quad core processors.

I just remember BioShock mostly being really heavy (as Oblivion), but Blops2 worked fine on the same rig.

If you can play Skyrim you can play any of the CoD games on lower settings.  Crysis may be out of your league though.

Even with the improved renderer in Black Ops 2 the core of the engine is still the same and a lot of those effects can be disabled in the graphics options menu. The engine it uses is coming up on 15 years old, it can run on pretty much everything.

Paradox Interactive games are great strategy games.

Hearts of Iron 2 is not graphic intensive.

Europa Universalis 3 would be a better bet, get the complete edition.  1399 - 1821 gameplay.

Honestly, if you can run skyrim, you can run most modern games. You'll just need to turn settings down, and be okay with less than 60 fps. I especially find it funny that you mention Black Ops 2 as a game you can't run, but you can run skyrim? That doesn't seem to add up. I play skyrim on my laptop, and I have to turn down a lot of stuff, and go with 720p resolution, and I still only get like 30 fps. But I ran Black Ops 2 during the steam free weekend at a flawless 60 fps, with most settings on high, although also at 720p. The Call of Dutys aren't exactly at "high graphic quality" games.
