Well I have a job and i don't want to spend a lot of money on my computer. If i did want to make the jump to core 2 duo i would need a new mobo for sure? My computer is from 2006, an eMachines T3508 with a celeron D processor running at 3.3 ghz, 2 gig of ddr ram, and an XFX 8600 GT XXX. I believe the only weak point that is cheap enough to fix is the processor.

In your OP you said that you'd be upgrading from a Celeron D... now it's a Pentium D... I thought I should point out that there's a pretty MASSIVE difference between the two. Celerons are discusting. :lol:
