DDR3 memory isn't compatible with AM2 parts. For $10 more, I'd go for the Phenom II 955 to accommodate the AM3 platform.

Hi Ma770T UD3P is an AM3 board. It uses DDR 3.

Unless he is talking about Ma770 UD3. That one

is AM2+

As Mao said,the X4 940 I linked doesn't support DDR3

I sometimes wish that AMD at least makes the AM3 box look slightly different. It's so d*** easy to accidentally grab a AM2+ CPU instead of a AM3 CPU, or vice-versa.

Yeah..its a AM3 board, and yes, box looks exactly like the AM2 board. Thanks on the RAM, hadn't looked at the Patriot series. Lots of people recommend the 955 cpu as well...thanks all..doesn't look like this is gonna be less than $300 though..CAD that is..

You can also try putting those in through NCIX as a price match. Using me as a reference (I live in Ontario), it costs me $306.58 with taxes and shipping at NCIX with the price match, while Newegg has it at 331.02 with all the additional costs.
