Hey guys, I'm looking for good new single player fps shooter with good visuals like crysis 1 and 2(dx11 preferred), I don't like any rpg's elements though(so no fallout game), I heard some good reviews about Rages singleplayer, but not really sure, what should I get?

STALKER: Call of Pripyat, Metro 2033. STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl too.

edit: STALKER's RPG elements are getting equipment and talking to people.

I second this. I just played it for something scary to play in October and I enjoyed it. It goes on sale for steam pretty often relatively so I would wait. Also I would say go with the classics from Valve (portal, half life 1&2)

Get Hard Reset from greenmangaming.com for $14.99...it's DX9, but looks amazing imho. It's futuristic but it's a hoot to play and at that price you can't beat the fun factor imho.

RAGE is pretty fun now that most all of the bugs are sorted...it's not very uber graphical up close though...most textures get blurry up close. But the large vistas and views are breathtaking.

Stalker series is another good one for damn sure...all with Complete Mod = Win.

STALKER for sure. Everyone should try to play a STALKER game as they are some of the best around.

Red Faction: Armageddon, although it's a 3rd person shooter, it has gorgeous graphics and an amazing physics engine. I got it for $12.50 during a Steam sale, and it was totally worth it.

sort of, sometimes I prefer something more linear. Not to mention the performance of armegeddon is much better.

If you're mostly looking for good shooting and don't care about story, then I think Rage will be very enjoyable for you.

Also Hard Reset is quite decent fun at an affordable price.

RAGE is pretty and fun, with decent AI. But the story is short and incredibly dissapointing.

story shmory, almost all shooters these days slap us in the face with terrible stories that detract from gameplay. Rage doesnt make the story important, which is refreshing.
