Right now I'm thinking about the Sounstick 3 from Harman Kardon. I know they make awesome headphones (AKG) but what about their speakers?

If I am not mistaken... Harman Kardon is apart of Harman Group, which just owns AKG, and have nothing to do with the AKG line of products except for funding them. Kind of like EA publishes games for studios.
So I wouldn't really relate Harman Kardon speakers to AKG headphones..
For the extra $24 for the Swans will give a fair performance jump, not to mention the D1010MKII08 had been reconstructed recently with improvements over the older model which already beat out the AV30s.These.

The AV30's have been well regarded, but you used to have a Dayton/Amp combo to recommend around this price range I liked, if memory serves. Do you remember which ones?[QUOTE="Gambler_3"]
