Good story driven linear FPS...

I'm really aa sandbox player. Love games like X, Armed Assault and other big stuff.
Right now I'm waiting for BIS to get their thumbs out and finish the game they released, by patching it up.

In the mean time I would love to play a REALLY good story driven linear FPS.
I really enjoyed Bioshock...

Any ideas? A good action shooter, with nice graphics and a cool story. Which ones are there now?

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. it is spectacular. great story, action, acting and graphics. even has one or two bits where it is sandboxy where you have time to explore the environemtn and do other stuff.

I agree completely.

I just purchased this game from Stardock (Impulse), it's got a great setting, and narrated history is interjected into the storyline.

The weapons used in the game and the time it takes to reload them (visually shown) is completely realistic.

I haven't reached any Boss Battles yet, but the gunfighting has been fierce so far.

Play FEAR 2.

It isn't trash.

It is too similar to the first game. It is like they took the first game and fixed all the problems here and there. A bit disappointing considering how good the first FEAR was, but no trash. 8/10 game

I love system shock 2. I loved Bioshock's art design and enjoyed the story. The art design was phenomenal. On the other hand, the RPG part as lacking. System Shock 2 is better

you've chosen well. you won't be disappointed. this game is a rpequel to the first juarez game you played. it is simply better in every imaginable way. you won't be disappointed considering the criteria you listed.

Call of Duty 4 has a good story? It was dramatic but NOT good. Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Bloodlines(can go first or third person), STALKER, and Arx Fatalis are all good choices if you want a good story with a first person view. If you can't handle the bad graphics then you are stuck with subpar stories and OK gunplay.

what the hell? The art style was pretty good. The enemies looked way better, and the environments were varied. That was the main problem with the first game.

The story in FEAR 2, is hate it or love it. Especially the ending. However, the pacing is done better.

Concerning graphics. Ya, nothing was mind-blowing. THe sound was great as usual though. And I don't get how people say FEAR 2 was watered down for console kiddies. THe health system is still there and not regen. And they added an extra weapon slot.

SO? Cod 4 has the best cinematic story in a fps ever... most fps nowadays dont even have a proper ending, eg timeshift...and i laugh at people who say mass effect has a good story with that logic because neither mass effect has a unique story, so i guess its eaqually bad.

i agree with what you say but also that makes mass effect story bad and peopel say it has a good story....they got to play old games like kotor.dakan45

F.E.A.R is a must play. Even after 4 years it still stands up.

F.E.A.R 2 is pretty much more of the same, but with better graphics.

Call of Duty 4 has a decent story as well.
