Mistake #1: joining a RP server.
As for the rest, well,I guess it cant be everyone's cup of tea. But dont say its bad, cuz it aint.
OK, I finally installed the game after my brother didn't stop talking about how much I will be addicted and used one of his guest accounts. I tried an RPG PVP server. There wasn't any role playing per say. My character was a hunter, I noticed everybody just running around trying to gain levels by doing some typical quests and repetitive fighting. I did my share of quests and I thought " Gosh I would rather be playing the Witcher or NeverWinter Nights 2 if I'm going to do this all night long". I waited for something cool to happen that will let me see all the hype, then some kid (probably 12) dueled me. He was a warrior and then owned me and started trash talking. Then After a couple of levels and some equipment and skills purchasing I found him and dueled him and kicked his butt twice and gave him a lesson in trash talking. He was quiet due to the humiliation and probably crying, that was the highlight of my WOW experience, kicking the enemy while they were down. Anyways after level 6 I decided enough is enough, I can't believe people do this for a year of their lifetime. To the people who spend a lot of time and money on this, " ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME !?" It is just a typical boring MMO, and I thought it was special. hamidious
lol rp/rpg servers are teh suck.

Uh..the game is a grindfest until around 15-18. Instances start around those levels, and those can be pretty fun if you can get a competent group together. On the other hand, they can be extremely frustrating if you group with bad players (particularly ones who don't know how to fill the tanking and healing roles properly.)
Instances and PvP are the only reasons to play the game. You see neither of those at level 6.
I don't play anymore, but World of Warcraft is pretty fun for what it is. It'd be more fun if the game had more standardized gear sets for battlegrounds. Something like that would make PvP encounters depend more on skill and reaction time rather than time spent farming in end-game instances and grinding for crafting materials.

If you're gonna make up a fake story like this at least make it believable. And believe me I know its not possible to kill a lvl 12 warrior at level 6 unless he's afk, lagging or pushing keys with his testicles.
easy there wow fan boy 12 refers to the kids age hahaha
lol you bought WoW!? you just wasted the chance to buy a great game man.
WoW is either forboys and girlswho look for friends or fanboys and fangirls with no life claiming they like it because they wasted their money on it all these years and they cannot leave because they're level5215 and they would be too ashamed saying to everyone else they wasted years of their life on a crappy game, hence overhyped by boys and girls... makes them feel bad, but they're still playing because they cannot have friends otherwise... oh no that's the first one... okjust kidding.
Seriously don't ever deceive me like that man, buying WoW lol... come on and you wanna be emo now?
Come on...let's just visualize that....
I start a new character in any MMO...I am level 1-3. Some guy come by and /duel me. I accept...and he displays an absolute moment of happiness and try to look all tough cause he defeat a newb? Man, how could you not praise him and ask him for advices? He beat a level 1-3 in duel!!! I mean, he is obviously da RoXor! :P
Your smart. Some of the best logic I witness on a forum.lol you bought WoW!? you just wasted the chance to buy a great game man.

We were actually both level 5, can you even read?
You still shouldn't make fun of people one year younger than you. That's just unfair.
WoW IS the only MMO I can play because it allow you to pay with gamecards. I actually met some cool people on Warcraft. Someone from my guild even gave me a free 16 slot bag. :)Zerkrender
Actually LOTRO has gamecards too. And why can't you play with a debit/credit card?
I play off and on. I don't care for the lower levels because there isn't any pvp except duals... and I don't care for duals... It is raiding, battlegrounds, instances, and group questing that I like. I've been playing for over a year... and yes, I do have a life and a gf.
So let me get this right. It took you to level 61 to decide you didn't like it? Hmmm....Frozzik
Nah, that's a "6." You probably were reading the "I" directly after it as a "1." He only played until level 6, not 61.
You can get to level 6 in, at most, 15 minutes of play time (as a completely new player.) Though much of the game does consist of grinding, he would have seen nothing of World of Warcraft in just 15 minutes.
[QUOTE="Ps2stony"]Yeah I find Guild Wars much better.nizms
i dont know why but i found GW to be one of the worst games i have ever played :/ spent 60$ on it and quit the next week :/
That sucks :( GW is my fave. But I guess it's not for everyone, just like WoW.

I'm not eighteen and my parents won't let me use theirs. :k The only gamecards I seen were for WoW. Pleas note I live in a very small town that only had one choice for cable. :(

Are you kidding me? Believe me when I say I have experience re rolling. It takes two hours. Go find a stop watch and make a new character then race to completely all the quest and maybe make some mistakes a newbie would. Two hours. I'm willing to bet money on it.

I got my debit card when I was 15, just like almost everyone in Finland. It might be a culture difference though.
It wasn't anything special back in 2004, either. Just, as with most Blizzard games, well polished. Didn't do much to advance the genre from a gameplay standpoint. Not knocking the game here, however, as I've played my fair share of WoW over the years.Alaris83
WoW was my first (and do date- only) MMO and so at the time it came out, I honestly thought they were played for fun not because of loot wh0ring like its today...
you can play almost any MMO with gamecards
and yea its not just WoW its all MMOs, Ive played a ton of them they all suck "other then guildwars", i dont like most MMOs for the same reason it takes to long to leveland then when you max you level you are forced to make a new toon or play the same class all the time, i didnt buy the game to level i got the game for the Pvp/hard PVE not 15vs15 or PVE that you can solo
I do not play Guild wars atm but it is the better MMO out there. It only days a few days to level so your not forced to just use 1 class, and if you just want to PVP you can make a PVP only that starts at lvl 20 "the max lvl" and do that, the PVP types are also fun "4v4 ramdom, 4v4Team, 8v8HA, 8v8GvG and 12v12AB" as for PVE its has a ton ov PVE stuff to do mission, hard mode, faction farmin, ect or even just killing stuff solo theres to much to go over when it comes to pve
