got new imac with intel hd graphics 3000 card and i can't scale the screen

when i play old games such as simcity 4 and kotor 2 i can't get them to play in widescreen on this new mac, i could on my pc and idk why. I can't find an option to scale the game to my native screen size can anyone help me out?
