I downloaded WinPatrol for XP and I used it to get rid of the programs that would load on reboot. Everything is good except one thing, my PC won't connect to the internet for some reason. Anyone know what to do in order to get it back up?

You've probably disabled a modem driver or something along those lines. Just enable the processes again and have a look at all of the descriptions. Don't disable important stuff such as anti virus processes or anything that relates to terms such as 'BT' etc. It may should you the program path as well.

Is there a recovery option in the tool you used? If not I only no one way that will take up some time. You to go into the windows services and enable everything that you think has something to do with your internet connection (there's a short description for every service). By proces of elimination you'll find the right one.. Or maybe this is worth a shot; go here, get the tool and select computer in a lan and OK. It's designed to work the other way around but just might enable necessary services. Hope it helps..

Use system restore. I hope the software didn't disable your system restore service, that would suck.

Try that first, if that does not work Try reinstalling your motherboard drivers. They usualyl have network drivers. Make sure your firewall is blocking yourself, that has happened to me once.... I am an intruder on my own computer lol mcafee.
