gothic 3 problems

i keep getting this error thing that says "where is the guru?" when i start a new game what the hell is happening i just want to play this game

That is a very strange error. I would attempt a reinstall and fully patch the game before starting.

This smells like a cracked copy though...

I Have done both and I bought my copy from a store

The whole game is basically a problem. I tried every fix I could find and the game still crashes every 5 minutes. Just hope Gothic 4 is playable.

Obviously I'm speaking with a heavy bias, the game doesn't work for me so I pretty much hate it. But it does seem like a good RPG game to play, if only it could run solidly.

My apologies then. So even after reinstalling, the first thing it asks is for this "guru"?

Then the only suggestion I would have is to post on the game's forums. Could be a Vista issue.

I found this thread, read through it, maybe there are some tips there on how to solve your prob.
