Just played the demo on the 360, graphics were horrible and the voice acting is bad, but over all seemed like a fun rpg, I may pick it up for the pc, but the voice acting is so bad it could ruin the game.

I downloaded the steam version after reading this thread, I had no problems running it, it just ran like any other stam game. The game looks amazing I cant even believe its the same game after playing the 360 version. People were complaining about performance, I am running it maxxed and it runs great. I am still shocked at the graphical difference.

Edit: after playing the pc version this is a must buy for me. It plays like a whole different game then the crappy console version. I think the combat is really fun and aslong as it has good loot, Im game. I ama very shallow gamer it seems, now that the visuals are near crysis level it is easier to put up with the bad voice acting :P

I agree, although I cannot max it out without loosing framerate (I have a 8800GTX), I can still play it on high and it looks great. I also felt the combat was improved over the last Gothic. Only issue now, I have a huge backlog which includes StarCraft 2, so I don't know if I will have enough time...

Odd, I've also got an 8800GTX and it ran perfectly maxed out, infact too perfectly I found the response time for the mouse was so rapid that the character was virtually spinning to begin with. The thing I disliked the most was the conversation cut-scenes, it takes you out of the game and so spoils the immersive element.

8800GTX with 8GB RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, Q6600 The mouse sensitivity had to be brought down too for me, but everything on max looking around skips a bit and is not perfectly smooth...

I have an HD4850 and only get 25-low 30s maxed out at 16x10. I set it down to to medium and a 720P window and it runs pretty good... I am getting tons of texture popin though.

I had the same problem. But then I found this odd suggestion and it worked. Here's what he wrote:

Change sound frequency to 48000 HZ in Windows control panel sound properties. Not sure why this works but it did for me...

Control Panel - > Hardware and Sound - > Sound - > Right click your default sound device - > select properties - > click on the advanced tab - > set the frequency to 48000 HZ ... Click apply... Demo should load ...

Hope it helps. :)
