GOTY of 2009,what do you think?

There are lots of candidates just like:

DA:Origins

Batman AA

MW2

Forza Motorsport 3

Uncharted 2

and lots of others,so what do you think...

DA:O has a real potential to be GOTY but I think that it will be MW2...

I think DA: O is the best game, but that MW2 appeals to a larger audience, so we'll see. Those are the only two real contenders in my mind.

Dragon Age: Origins, Borderlands or Torchlight.

I've played Dawn of War 2, Empire Total War, Arma 2, Drakensang, all from 2009.
Clear winner:

Out of these,probably Hearts of Iron 3.

And the GOTY award goes to..............................................................Dragon Age Origins

Dragon Age: Origins....but with Batman AA giving it a good run for it's money (played both, like different aspects of both....very immersive)

err... no just no. MW2 has really been dumbed down and far from deserves it.Dr_Brocoli

Just looking at some of the categories from last year. I suspect Batman: AA will take: Most Surprisingly Good Game, Best UK-Developed Game and Best use of a creative license and at least a nominee for Most Memorable moment with the Scarecrow bits.

Yeah there were others this year like Ghostbusters, Mirrors Edge and Batman....but Dragon Age is definitely the standout game for 2009.

Thought Dragon Age had such poor voice acting and script writing : Just well cheesy all the time.

For the PC it will probably be Dragon Age Origins.

I agree. Its a big improvement.

Anyhow, my GOTY is Arma 2.

Uncharted 2 for me. It was the most fun I had playing a game so far this year.

on pc, probably DAO. overall GotY, Uncharted 2.

So far for me my favorite has been Batman AA. But that could change very quickly with all the games I'm currently juggling right now: DAO pc, MW2 pc, and Uncharted 2.

I would say Mirror's Edge for PC is my GOTY so far. Keep in mind I haven't had money to buy a 2009 game in over 6 months. I think Borderlands, Batman AA, and Dragon Age Origins all would have a shot of taking it.

For an FPS id say Borderlands

For an RPG or an overall game Id say Dragon Age.

It will be very interesting to see what is going to be GOTY...

what a poor list. Its between Dragon Age, Empire Total War, Arma 2 and Dawn of War 2. Dont make me laugh with batman, Uncharted 2 and COD.

My personal preference : Dragon Age Origins .

Something about Empire Total War : The game fails at its very core . If there is a virtue all strategy games should carry , there is none but A.I.

E:TW has a miserable A.I. : Naval Invasions , Aggression , Realism (concerning how easily Alliances can break) , Help from Allies , Battlefield A.I.(flanking , troop idleness) etc are some of the things the game fails at . And to adress the subject we discussed a few days ago (concerning AC 2 fixed review) , really the A.I. topic wasnt mentioned adequately . Just read UK PC Gamer review and you will understand what i mean.

I still haven't made it through Dragon Age origins. Its win.

ive played 33 hours and i ve finished only 20% of the content ... that says it all i reckon

Im not nearly done with DA:O, but so far its so good that i think it will be mye choice for GOTY.

Batman:AA would be my second choice
