I have a GPU and motherboard in mind, but I'm looking for some second opinions. Also, let me say that I'm not looking to build some monster of a rig with outstanding performance.
GPU: I have a limited budget, which is about $100, for a graphics card. I am, however, willing to go a little higher.
Foxconn FV-Ny9SM2D2-OC GeForce 7900GS 256MB
This 7900GS will cost about $105. I've read that overclocked, which this card is, beats the Radeon X1950 PRO. My question is, can anyone suggest a GPU for similar price that outperforms this 7900GS?
Please dont say get an 8800 GT because as much as I would love to get one, its just out of my price range. I havent completely ruled it out, but I need to wait and see how christmas goes. $$$?
Motherboard: As I so stated, I dont have money to throw around. I'm looking for a motherboard for around, or under, $100, that will give me the best performance for the money. My knowledge of mobos and their makers is lacking at best. So, this is where I'm really looking for some help. I've found the motherboard listed below for $80.
EVGA 122-CK-NF66-T1 LGA 775 Nvidia nForce 650i Ultra ATX Intel Mothreboard
I'm not 100% sure about the quality or reliability of this board. Will this mobo be good enough? Is there a better performing motherboard for about the same price? Overclocking is optional for me. I dont need to OC, but I'd like to know I can.
I'm looking to run it with an Intel E6300 or E6400 and 2gb of OCZ DDR2-800 RAM on a 19" monitor (max resolution: 1280x1024). I also need suggestions for a power supply that can run everything and is reliable.
