Ok im new to buying cpu and stuff, I just got in to this computer gaming after upgrading from a pentium 3 900mhz. I am looking for a graphics card around the $200 price range no more than $250 (really pushing it), cheaper is better of course. you pc wont handle much ill say hd 3870 or 8800gt both around the 100 dollar mark there solid cards in there own right and NO ONE has ever spoke ill of either (unless comparing the two) then bag a decent 550 watt psu with a 12v rail

With a 4850 you should be able to play crysis on the highest settings no AAjust saw your resolution. You will be able to max it with aa as well with that low of a res
ill get whatever psu will be required to run it thats ot a problem the one i have right now is only 250w. Also there's like a whole bunch of different types of hd 4850's that vary slightly from like $20 differences to $50 from the original so i really dont know which one is best.

I quite like Asus. I have an 8600gt of theirs which has lasted me since 2004. So try to find an Asus Ati Radeon HD4850 512mb Also find a 500w power supply. Its a bit excessive, but its better to have one that will be able to fully power everything

Look at the PSU in my sig... My last PSU on E4600 @ 3.42GHz, 4GB RAM and 8800GT was 320W. No need for more, except for future upgrades.

you can still use the 1gb on lower resolutions XD I'm currently doing that until i have time to get a DVI-HDMI converter currently running 1024x768 X_X on a 32 inch montior

GDDR3=DDR3 You dont need it overclocked. That card you posted is fine. You can try to find a single slot card if you want, but if you dont mind it taking 2 slots then that one is your best bet :P

alot.. i heard if my card wasnt overclocked then i would see a 10fps difference in crysis cool story bro I have overclocked my 8600gt. It didnt make that much of a difference except for making it overheat. The 4850 will still perform really well without being overclocked. If you want an overclocked model then you should just buy a normal one and use some overclocking software to boost it a little.
