Ok im new to buying cpu and stuff, I just got in to this computer gaming after upgrading from a pentium 3 900mhz. I am looking for a graphics card around the $200 price range no more than $250 (really pushing it), cheaper is better of course. My pc specs are: AMD Athlon Dual Core 4450e 2.30 Ghz 3gb of DDR2 RAM 32bit windows 7 Home PSU-ill buy whatever is required of the graphics card PC Dimensions- Width: 6.7", Height: 14.9", Depth: 16.8" K Thankspatrick157
you pc wont handle much ill say hd 3870 or 8800gt both around the 100 dollar mark there solid cards in there own right and NO ONE has ever spoke ill of either (unless comparing the two) then bag a decent 550 watt psu with a 12v rail
Ati Radeon HD4850 Its a really good card that will cast you $100US. It will work fine with your system :PIantheone
thats not an anthalo 64 x2 its if you will anthalon 32 x2..

It will still work. There probably will be a bit of bottlenecking, but thats only about a 10% or so decrease in FPSWhat would be the highest level of gaming i could take that to like how high could i have crysis graphics. only got 19" monitor.patrick157
if you take his hd 4850 thats like battlestations: pacific, serious sam HD, shattered horizon, crysis wont be much of a problem.
since hes taken into consideration the bottleneck hes probably got a better buy.

Umm I dont really know what you mean by full specs [QUOTE="Iantheone"][QUOTE="patrick157"] What are the full specs of your system?patrick157I also need to know what kind of power supply you will need or if the one you have will be enough.

You will be able to max it with aa as well with that low of a res
ill get whatever psu will be required to run it thats ot a problem the one i have right now is only 250w. Also there's like a whole bunch of different types of hd 4850'spatrick157I quite like Asus. I have an 8600gt of theirs which has lasted me since 2004. So try to find an Asus Ati Radeon HD4850 512mb Also find a 500w power supply. Its a bit excessive, but its better to have one that will be able to fully power everything

Look at the PSU in my sig... My last PSU on E4600 @ 3.42GHz, 4GB RAM and 8800GT was 320W. No need for more, except for future upgrades.
would the 1gb also workshawn157I think the more memory is just to support the higher resolutions and such, probably wrong but might not be
well why is it cheaper?shawn157you can still use the 1gb on lower resolutions XD I'm currently doing that until i have time to get a DVI-HDMI converter currently running 1024x768 X_X on a 32 inch montior
well how much better performance do u get outa overclocked cards.shawn157alot.. i heard if my card wasnt overclocked then i would see a 10fps difference in crysis

It didnt make that much of a difference except for making it overheat. The 4850 will still perform really well without being overclocked. If you want an overclocked model then you should just buy a normal one and use some overclocking software to boost it a little.
