How long does it usually take for alternative parties to release their own cards once they're released? For example, when Nvidia released the 8800gts, how long did it take other companies like XFX, PNY, and EVGA to make their own 8800gts cards?
Same day - Nvidia doesn't actually distribute cards like ATI, so all the companies get the cards at the same time. Granted, fancier cooling solutions, coloured PCB's, etc. sometimes take a few weeks to appear, but launch day essentially means all the partners have working compies of the card ready to be branded and shipped to the end user.
