My 9600 Gt is giving me problems with my fan making noise and now i'm losing my signal unless im in safe mode.

I've been reading around and i see that the 8800 gt is a pretty good card.I sortaknow the nividia numbering system but i dont know ATI's at all. What I'm looking for is a GPU in theMid-High card range.

So whats gpu'sare better than the 9600GT for a good price? I'm getting a new MOBO btw so I'll put in 2 cards for a good price.

Definetly the HD 4770! - I hate spamming this card, but Nvidia has nothing else to offer :(

HD 4770 in crossfire on a Crossfire enabled mother board.

I read that 2 of them are better than any single card out for $109 a piece. True?

It is very true...to GTX 280's though, still that is impressive!

well the GTX 295 is the most powerful gaming solution... but well it's price isn't really reasonable

2x 4770's would be a really significant upgrade for you.

Though I prefer sticking to Single Card GPU's.... I keep hearing about problems with CF and SLI... so i stay away

Y not look at the 9800GT, or if ur budget stretches a lil more, look at the GTS250, a replacement for the 9800gtx

Im used to nivida I'm gonna look at that. But basically i wanna be able to play crysis on a mid to mid-high level. I'm leaning towards the mid-high level.

Find a 4870. From what I hear they go for a damn good price right now. I would say 4890, that's what I have, but I'm guessing you're not looking to spend that much haha

Mid - High for crysis,

Then u need 2 look at 260, and 275's to get high,

I got 260 (216) in sli, and i can get max with 1680*1050, and other games at 1920*1200

ATI has 2 i think, 4870 and the 4770, dunno how they perform tho, my last ati was a x700

Best bang for the buck, IMO, high end card is the 4890. If your a Nvidia lover, ora fold@home guy like me, then the GTX 285, but even with one of those I have to knock some settings down on FarCry2, never liked Crysis so I cannot comment there.

I was able to snag my GTX285 BFG OC2 for $285 at Dell.com. Check slickdeals.net and every once in a while a Dell coupon comes up with 40% off for a video card. Use GTX search term.
