Why does this card have a higher core clock than this card? I thought the 8800GTS would be more effective than a GT?

Because the 8800GT is an entirely new architecture than the G80 chips ( the 8800GTS you posted there ) , the 8800GT is a 65nm process, which allows them to have higher clock speeds, and it beats the origional G80 8800GTS, theres a new 8800GTS ( G92 ) and that beats the 8800GT because it has the same 65nm process as the 8800GT

2 8800GTs are way worth it, it doesnt suck up much power as the old G80 chips, ands has more stream processors than the old 8800GTS, so yes, its worth it

clocks dont matter as much as they do in cpu's.. its more about the actually architechture of the cards.
